Plant: Nandina berries and leaves.....

Nandina or heavenly bamboo (Nandina domestica) is a shrub belonging to Barberry family. The plant has green leaves which turn various hues of red, pink and purple in autumn. Perhaps, the most attractive feature of this shrub is its brilliant red berries, ripening in falls and persisting  all through the winter. The cherry-red  fruits drooping from the plant in lovely clusters are bound to entice the beholders. But, wait, all most every part of the tree  is toxic, rich in alkaloids. However birds, as always go unscathed by devouring on these berries....
