These are pictures from a visit to Mount Rubidoux in Riverside county..one of the most serene and peaceful place I had ever been to...
One of the few old forts...
View of Rubidoux city from the mount...beautifully planned with a cemetery in the center...
Great place to relax and enjoy the solitude....
Great place to relax and enjoy the solitude....
The winding paths leading to the mount was bordered by abundance of prickly pear...
Saw many ground squirrels sunning themselves on the rocks...no doubt, good number of hawks and Turkey vultures were circling overhead...
Out of the myriad interesting things that grabbed my attention, these pinking-red California pepper berries blanketing the ground was certainly one...as if gems were laid out...
Wild mustard blooms dominate the spring landscape all over California...some precocious plants were already sporting their golden blossoms... cheerful patches among the greys!!
Serene mountains could be viewed from the hillock.....I suppose the snow-clad peaks were that imposing South California mountains like Santa Ana, Mount San Gorgonio, Mount San Jacinto, and Mount San Antonio..........
Waiting to visit it yet again.........
