Place: Sequoia foothills....fall, oaks, mistletoe, sunset and other attractions......

People visit Sequoia National park with the Sequoia trees as priority in their itinerary..
But, the lower altitudes en route the giant forest, offer scenic vistas as well...rivers, woods of oaks, buckeyes, sycamores, mistletoes...
We  stayed in  Three Rivers town...Kaweah river flows near the rustic lodge..the banks of the meandering river is populated with sycamores and valley oaks...You just can't resist settling on a large boulder and soak in the beauty of brilliant foliage...

often with mistletoes...

also birds, deer and even bear sighting chances are higher in this elevation...
Love the yellowish and reddish crown of the trees..

...against the blue mountains...

Bare oaks are no less beautiful...

The layers of mountain veiled in haze and the mountain mahogany in the front...

I had no inkling that autumn in California foothills could be so spectacular!

The yellow and rust foliage are further accentuated with the long rays of setting sun....

On my way down the Giant forest, I saw the orb about to plunge below the horizon...the landscape is turning copper-tinged..

Behind the trees, I saw it hiding...

Spectacular isn't it?

Speechless...
