It is heavy on heart to see anybody suffering from health issues..........be that a bird or animal..
Saw these critters in Irvine regional park zoo...
This little burrowing owl seemed to have lost an eye.....even its wings looks battered..
This male mule deer is Davis..15 year old...I had seen him 3 years back...he was healthy...
This time was different..he looked very ill..skinny..and tongue was dangling out..
I researched a bit, and knew its a disease of deer and antelopes (cervids)...midge bite leads to virus infection...bluetongue disease...
Poor Davis..his neutering had gone awry many years ago...his antlers look strange..and now he is battling a vicious disease..........I pray for his speedy recovery and many years of healthy living...
