Arthropods are largest phylum among the existing ten phyla....where ever you see, you are likely to see one...tropical and subtropical areas have more diversity of them...San Diego is neither of them, plus its arid, yet a huge number of them thrive here....

Stink bug..
Termites..with wings, just before breeding...rainy day..
