Plant: Gorgeous bougainvillea............

Bougainvillea....who does not love this vivid-hued cascading blossoms with papery bracts?

They come in a wide spectrum of shades and are ideal for planting along street dividers, adorning gates and walls and designing as topiary.
A strand of gorgeous red bougainvillea....

Drooping branches with copious blooms...

They are ubiquitous to South California climate.....I had never seen so many varieties of them as I saw here.....

I have noticed that bougainvillea are integral part of Spanish missions...

(Here beautifying the El Camino Real bell.......)

It makes sense. These gorgeous plants might have been brought by the Spanish from Mediterranean regions, where it thrives......
Bougainvillea arch is most common design in these missions....
