Fauna: USA wildlife I long to see....

I am blessed to witness a plethora of amazing critters, miraculous phenomena, breathtaking locales in my 10 months stay in the USA. So far, I have been to  and seen parts of only three Western States viz. California, Arizona and Nevada, yet my wildlife repertoire is already spilling to its brim. I am delighted to witness the iconic Joshua tree, the vibrant mallards, ground squirrels, the Aleppo pines, the cacti, Cedar waxwings and orioles, gopher snakes, the migratory birds, abloom mustard meadows... It is not quite feasible to see the whole spectrum of wild flora and fauna this vast nation has to offer. But there is a wish-list of wildlife I am keen to watch, photograph and get to know...without its materialization, my USA stint would seem  incomplete...the list reads...giant red woods, wild Turkeys, mistletoe atop a host tree, a colossal oak draped with Spanish moss, may be a moose, a whale in the Pacific, a poppy field, autumn glory in its peak in the Smoky mountains, horses grazing in the green pasture before an imposing barn....
