Observation: Costa Mesa at its floral best...............

The Civic authorities of Costa Mesa deserve to be lauded for their wise decision in plantations and landscaping. Such a balanced mix of trees have been planted that year round spectacular blooms can be enjoyed. When I was introduced to this city last July, blossoms of Southern magnolias were gracing the streets, parking lots and parks. Then, pink silk-floss and crepe myrtle blossoms reigned all though the autumn. Came winter and Bradford pear blossoms accentuated the cityscape. With the advent of spring, purple orchid, sand cherry, coral, pineapple guava, bottlebrush and silky oak bloomed and vied for grabbing more eyeballs. Now, summer has heralded its arrival and jacarandas decked in purple-blue flowers are set to steal the show.
