Fauna: Hilarious fox squirrels............

To my immense happiness, our apartment complex teems with a myriad varieties of plants, birds and few animals. Each walk, amble or stroll along the pavements traversing the garden, ensures some heart-warming spotting of playful fauna. Of course, the squirrels top the list in cheering the onlooker.

Fox squirrels are great fun to watch, photograph and spend time with. Running on the shingled-roof, basking in the winter sun perched on the wooden balcony, sticking from the notched trunk of a towering palm, peeping from a dense pine branch, munching on sweetgums, burying a treasured nut, stealing grains from bird table, lying on the abloom branches of Bradford pear trees, showing stunt on cyclone fence, standing erect and folding hands and asking for food, their antics just never cease to elate...I love these energetic critters..It's been a year, I am enjoying the hilarious antics of these adorable bushy tail, fuzzy rodents. The  adept arboreal critters are seen scampering on sweetgums, cedars, pine, eucalyptuses, flowering pears, camphor, Chinese elms, carrotwoods, even the lanky palm in our apartment complex. Mostly, I see them sitting pretty, joyfully posing for camera, observing intently, crouching sadly, gnawing at random stuffs, chasing each other, scratching themselves, demonstrating acrobatic skills, burying the nut, drinking from the puddle, scurrying with twigs for repairing the dreys or simply standing upright like meerkats. Whatever they do, its amusing, captivating...check for yourself..

Plastered to flowering pear bark.....

Feeling glum...

Hey you....

Squirrel sticking to the trunk of sweetgum tree, just before the big jump to the terrace of the nearby house. Refined acrobatic skill it possesses.

Damn...where did I bury the acorn?....I always tend to forget, now-a-days..
