Caviar (Almas), truffles (Alba White), foie gras (goose liver delicacy), gold leaf, civet coffee (kopi luwak), saffron, Hwaiian Kona water.......
Huh....all for those transient umami flavor...sometimes, not even that..
I have had none of them......
Some local fish roe.....local forest truffles...yes..
I guess the expensive food are not for their taste..but due to imbalance between supply and demand...
