Information: National feral cat day.....

I learnt that October 16 is celebrated as National feral cat day...to raise awareness for humane treatment towards them...decided to post  some pictures of some feral cats in honor of that drive and the felines...
These pictures are of cats seen in Fullerton arboretum...

Following are pictures of SDSU campus cats....they have interesting names, such as Buddy, Orion, Darcy, Hermione, Calico, Blondie.....there are some volunteers who feed have neutered and spayed them, even helped adopt the kittens..and make sure to feed them every day. You can see them here.

Fauna: Neighbor's graceful cat.......

Our neighbor's cat Pippi is so charming and graceful, every time she shows up near our house, I can't resist stalking her with my camera. She loves relaxing under the shade of Shiny xyloma bush in the morning and  afternoon sunning in  the lawn. How I wish to pat her long-haired silky, shiny coat! However, the blue-eyed beauty does not seem interested in the attentions paid. She guards her privacy and on interruption, gracefully walks back to her master's house. Sharing some sneak peeks of the comely feline...........
The poised visage..........

The piercing blue eyes...........

Sunning time..........

Elegant gait.............

Once, I was aiming the lens at the jasmine bed, when this apartment dweller interrupted me. It was a request to take some pictures of his pet cat.
I happily agreed to photo-shoot the feline. He woke of his napping cat and brought downstairs. He laid the dopey, furry beauty behind the cherry-laurel bush. I had seen the cat several times during my night walks and every time I had tried to photograph, it had eluded me. But, today was different. Master's command was not to be ignored. The cat sat there like an obedient child and let me shoot from various angles. After a slew of clicks, it ran up the flight of stairs dangling its bushy tail behind as if conveying the message that 'enough for today'.

Fauna: Cats taking siesta.............

Napping under the spring sun on a stone paver patio surrounded by fragrant bushes and lush lawn in a peaceful neighborhood is a allure for any cat. This adorable, fuzzy feline is certainly having  a ball of a time indulging in the luxury. I had seen cats curl and get startled with slightest noise, but this guy seems less reserved and least bothered about the surroundings. Despite the slew of camera shutter sound and my feet tapping, it remained nonplussed. Exposing the belly to sun and splaying the legs, it continued its slumber.

Also this pet tabby cat was enjoying siesta on the front yard lawn of its master. I could not help envy this feline, as I saw it lying on the lush grass, exposing its furry flank to pleasant winter sun as the mild breeze whistled through the trees. Now, it's called a happy, care-free life...

And here is a big cat taking the obligatory nap...a snow leopard..
