Bamboo...perhaps the tallest member of Poaceae family.......
Widely used for paper making, housing material and furniture.........kitchen tools....chopsticks...
The leaves are staple of panda bears......

They occur in immense varieties........with stem girth very thin to very thick.......plant size that can be accommodated in a vase, pot to that spreads to for impenetrable thicket....

Strange color patterns.........

The young shoots are consumed across cultures...by boiling, chopping, fermenting, in shredded dried form...

The bamboo plant blooms randomly....the grain following the bloom period are like wheat....which rodents and birds feed on....as rodents get abundant food, their number multiplies....which apparently leads to famine.....
