Place: Anza-borrego desert trekking......amazing flora...

It was spring when we landed on Anza Borrego desert ......some memories...
It's BLISS......
When you trek for miles, along rugged terrain under blazing sun........

Encounter countless lizards, bugs and scorpions, get pricked by cholla cacti......

Then arrive near green mesquites laden with fragrant blooms, and listen to humming bees...........

And finally when your face is burning with the unforgiving desert heat and water bottle is almost empty, you come across a stream with crystal-clear water flowing in it and you get to splash yourself with cool water...

Spring is almost here in South California...
Its the time when the harsh Anza-Borrego desert turns pleasant with myriad wildflowers, including verbena, cacti, ocotillo, chuparosa, creosote and mesquite....bees and hummingbirds hover in abundance..ripe mistletoe berries look like jewels...stream meanders though the rugged terrain....borregos are seen in flocks....
No wonder, people flock their in hordes....
for trekking...

biking...

hiking...

enjoying the desert vista...

relaxing by the blissful oasis...

Witnessed an array of the annual wildflower in bloom...
And the plants were indeed wearing their blossoms and the usual grey desert desert had come alive....
Here, some of the flowers that attracted our attention and took our breathe away with their delicate charm...
Barrel cactus....

Brittlebush...

Ocotillo...

Mesquite...

Chuparosa...

Desert mistletoe was not exactly in blooms, but its orange-red berries were no less alluring than any other blossoms...

Can't wait to hit the desert to get a taste of the vernal bounty yet again...
