Winter: South California winter vista.....

I do frequently write about and post pictures on autumn....but seldom on winter...so, this post is all about the latter and its impact on nature in this region..
Most of South California does not suffer from extreme temperature fluctuations...that means snow is rare..still deciduous plants do shed leaves...and the landscape looks drab, sepia, muted....
Some shots from my lens.....
These are shots from Mission trails San Diego.....
The lake edge reeds have dried, creating a rustling sound as the cold wind sweeps through them...

At San Diego zoo.........

Large stretches of cottonwoods stand bare....

Its a valley near Palomar Mountain...........

Its the San Jose Valley...........

Hope you found some of them poignant, as I did....
