Big Bear lake is the nearest snowy place from our Orange county house.....83 miles from our Irvine hous...
It overlooks snowed peak of San Gorgonio mountain......
We visited in a Winter morning......we hiked in the snow, the Castle rock trail .......enjoyed the view.....
Its a mistletoe sprig fallen on the snow piles......
A chipmunk sunning on a boulder.......
My spouse posing with a wood carved bear.........the place is this animals' namesake, after all.....
Had a nice Thai lunch...then headed for the lake..
A pair of leash-less dog were having a grand time on the lake...running, swimming...
Then we spotted a raft of pelicans....amazing synchrony...
A horse-drawn carriage.....
It was winter...I guess, in autumn it must be looking more gorgeous...
Then some ice cream by the fire....
An encircling tour of the lake, with some fabulous views, before heading or for home........
It was a fun day..
