Had gone to the nearby Peter's canyon for an autumn hike..........I was amazed with ripe Opuntia fruits clinging to the cacti.......It would have been a forager's paradise.......
It can solve food insecurity, if people knew its food value and grew......such a hardy plant....

I used to eat them.......negotiating with the spines are tough, rest is as smooth as the commercialised dragon fruit......
