Last winter we had been to Cuyamaca rancho state park located towards the east of San Diego county...
We hiked among the pines and oaks....witnessed how terrible a wildfire could be!
Then had our packed lunch on a picnic table, as we watched some ground squirrels, acorn woodpeckers, blue jays...
Then we headed towards Stonewall peak....
The route was winding and the hike was strenuous...we had to take rest in between...
We soaked in the beauty of Cuyamaca lake, as we took pause.....
Saw a flock of Canada geese by the lake...
It was a refreshing outing in the crisp foothills...
