I had heard much about green roofs, but had not actually seen one. The living plants carpeted roof of the LAIR (Living Amphibians, Invertebrates and Reptiles) exhibit in LA zoo was the first of that kind to attract my attention. Recently, white sauntering in a Costa Mesa market complex, a lovely green roof captured my fancy. I learnt that apart from the decorative value, it acts as a coolant and a barrier to environmental pollutants.

I suggest you look at the design made by John Ledden called the iConic-Montecito Heights Design Complex located at the foothills of the Pasedena Mountains in Los Angeles, California. You'll be surprised how he took green roof designs to another level.
