Place: Contemplating the beauty of Sequoia National Park...a great retreat...

Nature with its diversity and magnificence, often makes people contemplate its splendid beauty..
Months back ..in Thanksgiving holidays, we had a road trip to Sequoia National Park......the park has diverse landscapes and it offered abundant scenic backdrops for memorable photos...an amalgamation of  colossal redwoods, alpine forest, snow-capped mountains, giant granite rocks, mistletoe-laden oaks, meadows, sycamore-fringed rivers, hills-girdled lakes and chaparral-clad canyons, it proved to be an awesome retreat...

It's on the bank of Kaweah river...the oaks, buckeyes and  sycamores lend various shades to the background...

Here, we have stopped at a vantage point, en route the Giant forest museum...That's the Moro rock in the left side and Sierra at the rightmost...

A fallen sequoia tree has been carved into a doorway...

atop the iconic Morro rock.....

In the high altitude conifer forest floor, assorted cones were scattered..these are spruce cones..

Morning hike to Tokopah falls.. it was a energizing 1 hr trek among the pines, cedars and other conifers I could not identify...encountered some snow along the path..

A crisp morning...laced with frost and redolent with fresh conifer air...

It's my favorite...the red barn was right behind our lodge..It was kind of my dream dwelling...at the foothills of Sierra, surrounded by sycamores and oaks...with the Kaweah  meandering nearby...
You can't help being mesmerized with the dense thicket-covered hills...the large boulders with their gravity-defying natural arrangements...big oaks with really big acorns scattering the ground..together they create a wonderful landscape..

Golden sycamores illuminating the riverscape..

Caves with wonderful view of the flowing water behind the veils of trees...

Nice granite perches to relax and behold...

View of the choppy water though the window of rocks...

mule deer grazing in the surroundings...this place would make a perfect retirement retreat...

Listening to the silence of forest...

As the Sierra range unveils itself, we sit hooked to the vista..

Kaweah lake takes the color of tea as the sun casts its faint rays..
