Joy: Morning in National park cabins.....

It has always been my dream to spend night in a log cabin in the midst of a dense forest. The opportunity came last Thanksgiving holidays when we had a trip to the iconic Grand Canyon National Park. Hidden in the aromatic forest, barely miles away from the South Rim, the lodging was sort of a fairy tale abode. The room allotted to us was furnished with thick mattress, warm comforter, plush sofa, squishy rug, AC, TV and hot water in the bath. What elated me most was the pristine view of the shadowy forest from the large glass window. The gnarled, twisted branches of the old conifers, their  fallen and decaying logs, pitch-black ravens and blue Western scrub-jays hopping among them, occasional sightings of mule deer made fascinating watch. I enjoyed every minute of this fabulous stay...
The lodging...

The well-equipped, cosy room...

The view from the hotel room...

The restaurant where we had pancake, fajita, mashed potato, and chicken legs........

It was second time that I was spending nights within a National park......
We had rented this wooden lodge in Glacier National park, Montana....

I woke up early in morning to be greeted by this majestic view...

Decided to take a stroll along the gravel path fringed by pines, inhaling the crisp air redolent with pleasant aroma....

Saw many such cabins surrounded by wild grasses and trees...

The fog was being dispelled by slanting rays of morning sun...the conifers were being washed with golden light...

Spotted a couple of Columbian squirrels among the wildflowers and robins in the conifers....

This hotel was not exactly within National park, but almost within....Springdale is barely 2 miles from the Zion National park...and during the stay here, I woke up to be greeted by the sandstone cliffs....

Wishing for such serene mornings more frequently.........
