Nature: Drought in California and US Southwest...

Drought is not an unusual situation for a chaparral...but, for humans who are dependent on water, its a challenge...especially, when it lingers for years, as happened to California, if fact the US Southwest.....I personally observed, many worrisome and eyesore water scarcity during my travels and hikes...some shots from my lens...
Lake Murray in San Diego....

Lake Henshaw near Palomar mountain.....

Lake Powell in Utah...

Lake Mead in Nevada....I have read in news that California, Nevada and Arizona are fighting for the receding water level..

Yosemite falls...bone-dry..

Trees are dead as water level has dropped....

Buckthorns are scorched..

Bird of paradise burnt in the harsh sun.....

Also, it means more dry biomass and woody shrubs in the chaparrals...which can lead to catastrophic fires...
Like these shots from Laguna wilderness Preserve...

I would like to urge all readers to preserve water as much as possible...
