Coot...a small water fowl of not-so-striking looks, unlike the wood duck, madarin duck or even the mallards...
They prefer distance from human.......unlike the very friendly mallard or Egyptian goose....
We saw this big congregation of coots in Grant lake, Eastern Sierra.........
