Plant: Banana plants in South California yards...........

I spotted this bunch of green banana hanging from the plant in the front yard of a house in Cypress Drive near Upper Newport Bay. Drooping plantain clusters from a tilted plant is something I had always related with rural environment. Now, this plant grown in the front garden of a house in Orange County, California, changed my notion. It was delightful and nostalgic, watching the clump of bananas and sniffing the familiar pleasant aroma in a faraway place.

I have read that banana industry is under severe threat due to a fungus... the soil-borne fungus causes Panama disease  ...the fungal pathogen is spreading, destroying banan plantation across continents...Cavendish, one of the most popular banana is at risk of wiping out...

We need sustainable solutions to curb the fungus and save the nutritious fruit...
