Plant: Eucalyptus in South California.........

Pink eucalyptus flowers..this season of the year, the gigantic trees are laden with these attractive and fragrant blossoms.

White woody fruits of blue gum eucalyptus (Eucalyptus globulus). I wonder which insect has devoured the leaves.

An intensely-fragrant, solitary flower of blue gum eucalyptus. The cream-colored pseudo-petals are in fact whorls of showy stamens.

A grove of spotted gum or Eucalyptus maculata by the sidewalks............

Red cap gum or Illyarrie......bears stunning yellow flowers and red capsules....

The burls or rounded outgrowths on certain trees are the results of stress or microbial invasion. These structures are often sawed off to sculpt expensive showpieces or furniture.
