Kumquat (Citrus japonica) is another exotic tropical fruit. This small, oval, edible citrus fruit is eaten as whole (along with the rind). The hardy shrub, with dense branches and deep green leaves are grown for ornamental purpose, apart from the tasty, abundantly harvested fruits.
I saw this fruit-laden shrub in front of a house ...and almost envied the owner of this bountiful little tree.
Since then, I have come across many of them...tasted them, even pickled....
